*Four corners of mats: Usually one or two of the mats lips (overlapping edges) will overlap a mat that has already been installed. Before setting a mat with a sledgehammer, the overlapping edge will need to be notched. Sometimes it will be one mat and other times it will be two or four mats. Both top and bottom lip corners may need notched to get a proper fit. Your seams will be staggered because your edges are overlapping. This also adds strength to the installation. |

Over lapping Seams Provide a good fit Reduce weed growth in seams Allows for easy application of adhesive |
Tools Recommended
1. 1 -2x4 & sledge hammer
(used along the side of sheets to assure tight fit)2. Small caulk gun
3. Variable speed saw (electric)
(We use a DeWalt Saws All)4. Carpet Knife
5. Lg. Carpenters Square
6. Chalk Line & White marking pencil
(all tools not necessary for every installation)
When installing at ground level, excavate area to 1 1/2" depth, level the base with dirt, sand, gravel or crumb rubber*. Apply silicone adhesive (we recommend E6000 Sealant) to overlap seams. Any clear or colored silicone may be used to finish top seams if desired.
* To meet fall height criteria, additional excavation depth will be needed. When using crumb rubber as your base to meet a 8-12 foot fall height, 2" - 3" of crumb would be needed and excavation to a depth of 2 1/2" - 3 1/2" is required. Crumb rubber will settle approximately 1".
